#Overview of the Task
You will be given a statement on a general topic. The statement will specify a problem, an argument, or a point of view. You are required to respond to the question by writing an essay.
The time allotted for this task is 40 minutes. The set word limit is 250 words.
#Assessment and Marking criteria
Knowing the marking and assessment can prove to be extremely beneficial. You can practice and develop the required skills.
You will be tested on four criteria, each caring the equal weightage,i.e., 25%. Your essay will be assessed on the following:

Task Response
Your ability to respond to the task is tested. The essay is checked for all the required details. To score well, you should address and develop key points. Meeting the word limit is also crucial.

Cohesion and Coherence
The structure of the essay, the paragraphing skills are examined. All the paragraphs in the article should be logically structured. There should be a clear progression of thought throughout the essay.

Lexical Resources
This criterion examines the range of vocabulary used in the essay. You should use a wide range of vocabulary, with correct spellings.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy
It would help if you used complex sentences in the essay. Make sure to include a range of word forms. Ensure that the sentences are grammatically correct.

You can pay attention to a few details and score better in General Writing Task 2.
