#How to solve the Map question in the IELTS Test?
Map questions are the easiest to solve and quite popular among students. There are two essential steps to keep in mind while attempting the Map question.
-
Analyze the question
It is essential to understand the question and the prompt. Usually, you will find some keywords in the question itself.
-
Identify the main features. Identify the time periods in both maps. Look at the two maps and identify what has changed, what remained the same etc.
#Structure of the report
The structure of the report is hugely significant in the IELTS Test. Ideally, the report should be divided into four paragraphs.
Introduction- paraphrase the question.
The introduction is quite simple; you have to paraphrase the question. You can finish the opening in 2 or 3 sentences.
Overview - highlight the main features in the Map.
In the overview, briefly describe the two maps. Give a general idea about the noticeable changes that have taken place and other such main features. You can use sentences such as the area witnessed significant changes over 20 years, the villages were redeveloped and modernized, etc. Write about four to five sentences in the overview.
