Application Process

  • Applications for Bachelor’s degrees in the United Kingdom are to be submitted using the UCAS application website (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). The majority of universities will only welcome your application through the UCAS system.
  • Register, create your application on the UCAS website, and fill in the required information. Applicant can save their application and return to it as many times as they like, before submitting the final version.
  • If applicants are applying for Medicine or Law Degrees, it is quite possible that the universities may ask for additional tests such as the UCAT or BMAT for Medicine, or the LNAT for Law degrees.
  • IELTS, TOEFL, PTE scores, or any equivalent as proof of English Proficiency with an overall band score of 6.5.
  • International Students have to submit proof of advanced English language proficiency. Accepted language tests are IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, C1 Advanced, and PTE Academic.
  • After receiving your university acceptance letter, settle your health insurance.
  • International students shall apply for a UK student visa.
  • The majority of the institutions have their own online application system.
  • Every university has its own timeframes for processing applications. It will usually take between two weeks and two months to discover whether you've got a place.
  • Applicants have to submit a personal statement (SOP) as part of their application.
  • A copy of your passport.
  • IELTS, TOEFL, PTE scores, or any equivalent as a proof of English Proficiency with a band score of 6.0 - 6.5
  • For a Master's application, you will need to supply two academic references. If the applicant is not able to give an academic reference, for instance, if you've taken a break from studying, you'll need to provide a professional reference from your most recent employer.
  • It is advised to limit your applications to 2 or 3 courses - any more than 5 is unnecessary, and will potentially risk the overall quality of your applications.
  • Once an application has been submitted, it will be assessed, and the students will be informed of your university's decision within eight weeks.
  • Arts and humanities applicants may be asked to provide evidence of their work, in the form of a portfolio to support their application.
  • It is essential to include all the required information.
  • The application process for a doctoral program in the UK is very different from the process for applying for a first degree.
  • To apply for a Ph.D. applicants will need to show that they are the right candidate to fill an advertised position or complete a research project that you designed and proposed yourself.
  • Most Ph.D. applications require an interview. This allows your university (and perhaps even your prospective supervisor) to discuss the Ph.D. with you in more detail. Universities may also ask questions about your goals, background, and project.
  • GRE and GMAT are the commonly used graduate entry tests for Ph.D. study, but they aren't the only ones. Specific exams are used for Ph.D. applications in certain subjects. Some countries also use their own tests, in place of the GRE and GMAT.
  • Academic entry qualification: A First or Upper Second Class Bachelor's degree (or its international equivalent). A relevant master's degree, with Merit and a minimum average grade of 60% in both the taught course units and your dissertation (or the international equivalent of 60%).
  • English language: IELTS test minimum scores - 7 overall; TOEFL (internet-based) test minimum scores - 100 overall.
