XAVIER UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA

Private, historically black, and Catholic, Xavier University of Louisiana (often referred to as XULA) is located in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States. It is the first Catholic historically black college or university and, with Katharine Drexel's canonization in the year 2000, it became the first Catholic university to be established by a saint. Xavier University had an endowment worth around $171 million in 2018, placing it fifth among all of Louisiana's colleges and institutions in terms of endowment value.

Xavier is ranked #2 among HBCUs by College Consensus and #1 in the nation for producing the most African American graduates who successfully complete medical school. The university is also recognized for its strong academics, with over 90% of its graduates earning a bachelor's degree within six years.
