Southern University at New Orleans, also referred to as SUNO, is a public historically black university located in New Orleans, Louisiana. SUNO also goes by the acronym SUNO. The Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the Southern University System both count it as a member institution in their respective networks. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Council for Social Work Education, and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education all recognise the legitimacy of Southern University at New Orleans as an educational institution worthy of accreditation. The Museum Studies Graduate Program at Southern University at New Orleans is unique among schools in Louisiana because it is the only one of its kind.
