The city of Radford, Virginia is home to a public university known as Radford University. It is a public university that offers doctoral degrees and is one of eight in the state. Radford University was established in 1910 and currently provides coursework for undergraduate students in more than one hundred different areas of study, graduate programmes such as the M.F.A., M.B.A., M.A., M.S., Ed.S., Psy.D., and M.S.W., as well as specialised doctoral programmes in health-related professions. It is categorised as a Doctoral/Professional University, which was formerly referred to as an R3 university.
