JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY

In Harrisonburg, Virginia, there is a public research institution called James Madison University (often known as JMU, Madison, or James Madison). The State Normal and Industrial School for Women at Harrisonburg, which was founded in 1908, was later renamed Madison College in 1938 and James Madison University in 1977. It is located immediately west of Massanutten Mountain in the Shenandoah Valley.
