INSTITUTE FOR THE PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCES

Divine Mercy University (DMU), located in Sterling, Virginia, is home to a graduate school of psychology known as the Institute for the Psychological Sciences (IPS), which is an integral element of the university. The institution was established in 1999 with the purpose of grounding the scientific study of psychology on a Catholic vision of the individual, marriage, and the family, in addition to serving as an international centre for the promotion of scholarship and the training of professionals. It seeks to educate new generations of psychologists and mental health professionals as well as open new areas of research for psychological theories that explore the relationship between psychology and the Catholic-Christian understanding of the human person. In addition, it aims to open new areas of research for psychological theories that explore the relationship between psychology and the Jewish understanding of the human person. Both a Master of Science (M.S. in Psychology) and a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology are available to students at this educational institution.
