OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY

Norfolk, Virginia's Old Dominion Institution (ODU or Old Dominion), founded in 1930, is a public research university. With 24,286 students enrolled for the 2021 academic year, the Norfolk Division of the College of William & Mary is currently among Virginia's most prominent universities. Old Dominion University enrolled over 700 international students from 89 nations. Its main campus is about five miles (8.0 km) from Downtown Norfolk. Straddling the city neighborhoods of Larchmont, Lambert's Point, and Highland Park, it spans 251 acres. Because of their loyalty during the English Civil War, King Charles II of England gave ODU the name "The Old Dominion based on Virginia's state nickname. The National Science Foundation reports that ODU invested $60.3 million in R&D in 2018. It has an annual economic impact of nearly $2 billion on the local economy. The University has alumni in all 50 states and 67 countries, approximately 124,000. And have the capacity to offer over 24,000 students - offering to choose from 168 undergraduate and graduate programs. They are known for their ethnic diversity. The University comprises individuals with varied backgrounds and experiences, nationalities, ethnicities, religions, and physical, political, intellectual, and emotional differences. The SACSCOC accredits ODU - Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award master's, education specialist, baccalaureate, and doctoral degrees.
