Allen University, located in Columbia, South Carolina, is a private historically black university in the United States. It serves a clientele that is still largely Black despite having more than 600 pupils enrolled. The Allen University Historic District includes the entire campus as one of its entries in the National Register of Historic Places. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has granted the university the necessary accreditation to be able to confer bachelor's degrees in both the arts and sciences.
