CLAFLIN UNIVERSITY

The Claflin University campus is located in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and it is a private historically black university. It was established in 1869 by northern missionaries as a result of the American Civil War for the purpose of educating freedmen and their children. The university now grants bachelor's and master's degrees.
