KONRAD- ADENAUER- STIFTUNG SCHOLARSHIP
International students who intend to pursue higher education in Germany are awarded the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Scholarship. Master's, postgraduate, and Ph.D. students who desire to study in Germany can apply for the scholarship.
- For both types of students, the scholarship amount varies.
a) Stipend of 850 EUR per month for two years for master's or post-graduate students.
b) Stipend of 1,200 EUR per month for three years for doctoral or Ph.D. students.
- Students must have been offered a spot at one of the partner colleges or universities.
- They must show confirmation of their German language skills.
- Candidates must submit a separate application form in order to be considered for the scholarship.
The KAS Scholarship not only helps its beneficiaries financially, but also guides them. The KAS community is always in touch with its alumni, and they are invited to attend every major seminar that they sponsor.
#ELIGIBILITY
To be considered for a Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Students from around the world who want to study in Germany can apply.
- Before applying, applicants must have a bachelor's degree.
- Students must enroll in master's or doctoral programmes at one of the KAS partner universities in Germany.
- When applying, the candidate should not be older than 30 years old.
- A B2 level of German language proficiency is required.
- The applicant should be involved in volunteer activities on a regular basis.
- Must have a comprehensive general education and a strong interest in political topics; must have a favorable attitude toward democracy and human rights; must be willing to develop their own personal viewpoints and practise tolerance.
#APPLICATION PROCESS
Candidates who want to be considered for the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship must fill out an application form.
Candidates who live near the 2020 Focus zones can submit a written application to the KAS office. Candidates living in Germany can apply for the scholarship through the domestic online form and submit the appropriate documents.

- A formal CV that includes previous attendance at social camps is required.
- Academic transcripts with verified translations and a letter of encouragement
- Language proficiency in German must be demonstrated. B2 skill certificate
- A letter of recommendation written by a university professor with a PhD degree is required. The letter should not be older than two months.
- Letter of acceptance from the University in question
- A photographic image (only for identification purpose)
- For Ph.D. students: In German or English, a full explanation of their doctoral thesis (4-5 pages).

#SELECTION PROCESS
Every year, new target locations for the selection process are established. Regions of focus for 2020: Central Europe, Southeast Asia, the Near East, and West Africa are the regions that come under this category this time.
Interview Location: Interviews for shortlisting qualified individuals will be held in Budapest, Seoul, Amman, and a West African capital city (yet to be decided by the committee).
The following factors will be used to evaluate candidates:
- Qualification from a university.
- Citizenship.
- Documents submitted at the time of application
The recipients of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship will be notified electronically via their email address. Applicants will receive additional information via the nomination mail once they have been shortlisted.
#GRANT DETAILS
The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship is a scholarship offered by the KAS Foundation for overseas students studying in Germany.
- It is aimed for students interested in pursuing master's, postgraduate, or doctorate degrees.
- The total compensation is divided into monthly payments, with the PG stipend being 20,400 EUR and the doctorate stipend being 43,200 EUR.
The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship also comes with the following benefits:
- Subsidize health-care insurance up to a monthly limit of 120 EUR.
- A family allowance of 276 EUR is available if you and your spouse live together in Germany for three months and his or her monthly income does not exceed € 450.
- For children living with you in Germany, a monthly stipend of 194 EUR is available.
The submission of an official German translation of the kid's birth certificate, as well as the official rejection of your request for public child allowance, are both required.
Aside from that, KAS students will have:
- University staff and representatives serving as mentors.
- Become a participant in the multi-seminar programme.
- Being a part of the Buddy-Program and a local university group.
