#Why study MS in Electrical Engineering in Germany?

Germany is one of the most sought-after locations for higher education by students from other countries because of the country's excellent educational standards combined with its zero or low tuition fees. Around 380,000 students from other countries come to study in this country each year because it has 426 universities that are considered to be among the best in the world. According to the Academic Ranking of World Institutions, it is home to six of the world's best universities out of a total of one hundred (ARWU). The advantages of studying in Germany are vast and include things like the following:

  • Germany's education system, which is heavily focused on research, is considered among the greatest in the world, ranking just behind those of the United States and the United Kingdom.
  • Germany is a nation that is heavily focused on technology and has made remarkable strides in the scientific community; as a result, the country is home to some of the most successful international businesses. After graduation, everybody who is interested in establishing themselves has a vast number of work alternatives available to them.
  • One has the ability to conduct more in-depth research and gain more experience by working directly with well-known companies. Students have the opportunity to gain the skills necessary to work effectively after they secure employment.
  • Students interested in pursuing a degree in electrical engineering in Germany have access to a wide range of degree programs, giving them the opportunity to select the academic path that best suits their interests. There are even universities that provide courses through online learning or on a part-time basis (eg, the University of Duisburg-Essen).
  • Because the number of engineers in Germany is higher than in any other country in the EU, it is an excellent location for engineering students to further their education, regardless of the field they choose to study.
  • Because the majority of universities in Germany are public and so get funding from the state, students there are not required to pay tuition.
  • However, this does not in any way compromise the quality of the education that is provided.

#Visa process

Non-EU citizens who intend to further their education in Germany are required to get a student visa from the German government. To secure a resident permit to continue your stay in the country, you are going to require a national visa, which will set you back 75 EUR (6256 INR).

The time needed to complete the process is around 25 days. The fact that approximately seventy percent of students graduate and remain in Germany after completing their studies demonstrates that the regulations for German work visas have been loosened. The following items are on the checklist for a German visa:

  • A completely filled-out application form and a cover letter explaining the purpose of your visit and how long you will be staying.
  • A valid passport.
  • Two photographs were taken recently.
  • Offer letter of admission received from a university in Germany
  • A copy of the student's academic record.
  • A certificate that proves your proficiency in German, or evidence that you intend to study the language in Germany, is required (PhD applicants and Erasmus Mundus Scholarship holders are exempted.)
  • Proof of current coverage under a private or public health insurance package.
  • A statement attesting to the genuineness of the documents that have been provided.
  • You can also be required to provide evidence that you do not have a criminal past and/or that you do not have certain diseases.
  • Proof of your financial standing is required to study in Germany (EUR 8,700 per year).

Students who choose to pursue their education in a foreign country are required to cover three distinct categories of costs: pre-arrival costs, tuition fees, and living expenses.

Pre-arrival costs

Students who wish to pursue higher education in a foreign country are required to pay certain pre-arrival or one-time fees. These fees may include airfare, visa fees, application fees, examination fees, and others. The overall price is approximately 3,664 Euros, which is equivalent to approximately 2,97350 Indian Rupees.

#Scholarships

In German institutions, semester fees must be paid in addition to the relatively modest tuition costs. When added to the cost of living, the whole price tag is one that can be difficult to stomach. However, there are a number of scholarships available to students from other countries so that they can afford their education in Germany. The amount of the scholarship is determined by both your academic success and your family's financial situation, and it can range anywhere from 172 to 943 dollars per month for a total of a year.

The DeutschlandStipendium National Scholarship Programme (German Scholarship Program) and the DAAD Scholarship Programs are considered to be the most prestigious scholarships in all of Germany (Government-Funded Scholarships in Germany). The following is a discussion of some of the most common scholarship opportunities available to overseas students.

#Career prospects

Someone with a Master's degree in electrical engineering can earn a salary of 13,300 EUR per month, which is approximately 93 percent more than the average pay of someone with a Bachelor's degree in the same field. Workers in this industry can anticipate a boost in pay equivalent to 12 percent every seventeen months.

The following table provides an overview of the typical salary range for electrical engineers, broken down by degree level:

Job role

Average Monthly Pay (in EUR)

Electrical Engineering Manager

13,000

Electromechanical Engineering Technologist

10,900

Electromechanical Equipment Assembler

10,200

Energy Engineer

11,600

Engine Assembler

7,320

A Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree will prepare you to work mostly in the manufacturing sector. As a result of Germany's high level of industrialization and its position as one of the top countries in terms of all types of technological advancements, the employment opportunities for engineers continue to improve.

It is reasonable for students to anticipate earning several times more money in this country in comparison to what they would earn in India. When compared to other countries with an education system of comparable quality, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, or Canada, Germany undoubtedly stands out as a country that provides a world-class education because dozens of universities there offer this course at lower prices.
