LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY

In Harrogate, Tennessee, there is a private university called Lincoln Memorial University (LMU). The 4.0 km2 (1,000 acres) Cumberland Gap National Historical Park campus of LMU is adjacent to it. 1,975 undergraduate and 2,892 graduate and professional students were enrolled as of the fall 2019 semester. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has granted LMU accreditation (SACS). The American Bar Association granted full accreditation to the LMU Duncan School of Law in March 2019. The university's Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum is home to a sizable collection of artefacts associated with the Civil War and the school's namesake. General Oliver O. Howard, the school's first donor, and his associates contributed to the collection in the beginning.
