FREED-HARDEMAN UNIVERSITY

In Henderson, Tennessee, there is a private university called Freed-Hardeman University that belongs to the Churches of Christ. It enrols full-time students who are of traditional college age and is primarily an undergraduate residential institution. The institution also provides on-campus and online learning opportunities for some commuter, part-time, and adult students. A small selection of master's and doctorate level graduate programmes, including those in Bible, Business, Counseling, and Education, are provided by the institution. Degrees in the arts, sciences, and professions are awarded. A board of trustees oversees the university, and each member of the board must belong to a Church of Christ. Twelve academic divisions—Arts and Humanities, Biblical Studies, Business, Education, Sciences and Mathematics, and the Honors College—offer courses through six schools. In the fall and spring semesters, Freed-Hardeman runs study abroad programmes in Europe out of its Verviers, Belgium location. Madrid, Spain, offers a study abroad and immersion programme for most of the summer semesters. Other options include two- and three-week study abroad programmes in Seoul, South Korea, Stratford, Canada, Israel, and Costa Rica.
