CLEVELAND INSTITUTE OF MUSIC

In Cleveland, Ohio, there is a private music school called the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM). It was established in 1920 by Ernest Bloch and now has 1,500 students enrolled in its preparatory and continuing education programmes in addition to 325 students at the conservatory. Every year, roughly 100 positions become available, and 1,000–1,200 potential students apply for those positions. Numerous members of The Cleveland Orchestra hold faculty positions at CIM, and former students of CIM can be found playing in important orchestras all over the world.
