ASHLAND UNIVERSITY

The city of Ashland, Ohio is home to the Christian-affiliated, private university known as Ashland University. The primary campus of the institution covers an area of 135 acres (55 ha), and it also has a number of off-campus locations located across central and northern Ohio. In 1878, the town of Ashland was established first as a college. It is connected with the Church of the Brethren in some way. The institution is comprised of four colleges in addition to a graduate school. These colleges are the College of Arts and Sciences, the Schar College of Education, the Dauch College of Business and Economics, and the Schar College of Nursing and Health Sciences. In addition to a variety of master's degrees, the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree is one of the options available to students at Ashland Theological Seminary, which is a part of Ashland University. The majority of graduate research at Ashland is conducted in professional fields, which contributes to the school's standing as a master's university.
