UNIVERSITY OF WEST ALABAMA

Livingston, Alabama's University of West Alabama (UWA) is a public university. The institution began as Livingston Female Academy, a church-sponsored school for young women, in 1835. Livingston Female Academy's first Board of Trustees was chosen in 1836, and four of the seven members were Presbyterians. On a 600-acre (2.4 km2) site in west-central Alabama, the university serves students in numerous academic colleges and divisions. Associate, bachelor's, master's, educational specialist, and educational doctoral degrees are among the degrees offered by UWA.
