UNIVERSITY OF MONTEVALLO

Montevallo, Alabama is home to a public educational institution known as the University of Montevallo. The university was established on October 12, 1896, and it is currently the only public liberal arts college in the state of Alabama. Additionally, it is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. In 1979, sixteen different buildings on the University of Montevallo campus were included in the University of Montevallo Historic District. In 1990, it had an expansion that brought the total number of structures to 75. It can be found in the middle of Alabama in a more rural part of the state.
