UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA IN HUNTSVILLE

Huntsville, Alabama is home to a public institution of higher education known as the University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH). The university is authorised by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to confer bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, and it is composed of nine colleges: arts, humanities, and social sciences; business; education; engineering; honours; nursing; professional and continuing studies; science; and graduate. The university has earned accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. There are roughly 10,000 students enrolled at the university. It is categorised as an R1 university, which stands for "Doctoral Universities with Very High Research Activity." The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is one of three universities that make up the University of Alabama System. The other two universities are the University of Alabama in Birmingham and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Each of the three universities operates autonomously, and the only person who reports to the Board of Trustees of the system is the president of their respective university.
