UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS - BROWNSVILLE

After Texas Southmost College and the University of Texas-Pan American are merged, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley opened in 2013 as the state's first major open university. It is a public research university with campuses all over the Rio Grande Valley area of Texas. The university is also part of the University of Texas System and is officially approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to give graduate, postgraduate, and doctorate degrees. In 2019, the university has enrolled more than 29,619 students.
