HARDIN-SIMMONS UNIVERSITY

Abilene, Texas is home to Hardin–Simmons University (HSU), a Baptist institution of higher learning that is privately owned. HSU provides students with the opportunity to earn one of seven different graduate degrees along with 70 different undergraduate majors. The fields of dentistry, engineering, medicine, law, pharmacology, physical therapy, and seminary are all examples of professions that can be prepared for through pre-professional education. In addition to courses in physical science and humanities, geography, Greek, and Hebrew are also available to students at HSU. The university is the first institution in the state of Texas to make a doctorate in physical therapy available to individuals, and it also confers the degree of Doctor of Education (Ed.D.).
