In the city of Dallas, Texas, there is a public institution known as the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNTD). It first opened its doors in the year 2000 as a satellite campus of the University of North Texas, providing advanced undergraduate and graduate-level education in a variety of subject areas. In 2009, it transitioned into a self-sufficient university that provides both a comprehensive undergraduate curriculum and graduate-level coursework. The only public university that may be found within Dallas city limits is the UNT Dallas campus.
