OTTAWA UNIVERSITY

The University of Ottawa is a bilingual public research university in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Ottawa University is one of the best private Christian Universities in the US. Ottawa University has residential campuses in Ottawa, KS, and Surprise, AZ. The main campus is in the Sandy Hill neighborhood, 42.5 hectares (105 acres) directly northeast of Downtown Ottawa and across the Rideau Canal. With over 155 years of history, Ottawa University has grown into a comprehensive educational institution from a single building since 1865. It serves more than 4,000 students from two residential campuses in Arizona, Ottawa, Kansas, and Surprise. Also, graduate studies campuses in Kansas City, Milwaukee, Phoenix, and online. The College of Bytown was the university's original name during its founding year of 1848. As the Catholic Archdiocese of Ottawa's first bishop, Joseph-Bruno Guigues. On July 1, 1965, the university underwent a reorganization and became a company separate from any outside entity or religious organization. As a result, the newly established Saint Paul Institution, federated with the university, preserved the civil and pontifical charters. The reconstituted university kept the surviving civil faculties.
