CARLETON UNIVERSITY

University is an English-language public research university. Carleton University was founded in 1942 as Carleton College in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The institution initially operated as a private to serve to return World War II veterans and a non-denominational evening college as Carleton College during its foundation times. Carleton offers a wide range of academic programs and operates from six faculties and more than 65 degree programs. It has various specialized institutions well-regarded in their fields, including the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs, the Carleton School of Journalism, the Sprott School of Business, and the School of Public Policy and Administration. Carleton has a 150-acre campus west of Old Ottawa South, close to The Glebe and Confederation Heights. It is bounded north by the Rideau Canal and Dow's Lake and south by the Rideau River. As of 2021, Carleton enrolls more than 27,000 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students yearly. Carleton has more than 165,000 alumni worldwide.
