KENDALL COLLEGE OF ART & DESIGN

Founded in 1928 is a private art academy merged in 2000 with Ferris State University. They offer bachelor's and master's degree programs encompassing visual and decorative arts, critical theory, and art history. KCAD is accredited by the Design and the Higher Learning Commission of the NCAC and Schools and the National Association of Schools of Art KCAD is an excellent school with an amalgam of opportunities and resources at your disposal. The staff-to-student ratio is typically superior in my experience, ranging from 30-1 for Gen Ed classes down to 10-1 for studio classes, giving an excellent opportunity for one-on-one time with professors. Design of Ferris State University and Kendall College of Art provides four-year studies- Bachelor of Fine Arts grants in sixteen majors: Collaborative Design, Art Education, Digital Art & Design, Fashion Studies, Drawing, Furniture Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Industrial Design, and Interior. Kendall is one of only two colleges in Michigan and the only one on the western side of the state devoted solely to offering a degree in areas of fine art and design.
