TEXAS CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

Private research university Texas Christian University (TCU) is located in Fort Worth, Texas. The Add-Ran Male & Female College was founded in 1873 by brothers Addison and Randolph Clark. It has connections to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). About 3 miles (5 km) outside of downtown Fort Worth, on 272 acres (110 ha), is where the campus may be found. The Disciples of Christ do not run TCU, but the two organizations are related. The institution provides a classical liberal arts curriculum and eight member colleges and schools. It is listed as belonging to the category "R2: Doctoral Universities - High Research Activity". Superfrog, the TCU mascot, is modeled after the horned frog, the creature that represents Texas. TCU competes in the Big 12 conference of the NCAA's Division I for the majority of varsity sports. Around 11,938 students are enrolled at the university as of Fall 2021, with 10,222 of them being undergraduates.
