In Kerrville, Texas, there is a private Presbyterian university called Schreiner University. Around 1,300 graduate and undergraduate students attend the university. It provides an MBA and a master of education in addition to more than 40 undergraduate four-year degrees. It was founded in 1923, and since 1932, it has been coeducational. The university also houses the Schreiner Institute, an ROTC programme, and veteran services for those who did not receive nominations or appointments for service academies right out of high school. Greystone Preparatory School, a programme that prepares students for service academies, was previously housed at Schreiner University before the Schreiner Institute was established there.
