Grand Junction, Colorado is home to Colorado Mesa University, a public institution of higher education. In addition to these main campuses, the university also has a regional campus in Montrose, Colorado, and the Bishop Campus, which is situated in the northwestern corner of Grand Junction and is home to Western Colorado Community College. Associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, and master's degrees are all available to students at Colorado Mesa University. The college, which was formerly known as Mesa State College, transitioned to the status of a university in August 2011, at which time it changed its name to Colorado Mesa University.

Bunting Hall: This co-ed residence hall, built in 2011, is home to 323 students and features semi-suite style living with shared bathrooms and common areas.

Garfield Hall: Completed in 2015, Garfield Hall is another co-ed residence hall accommodating 437 first-year and continuing students. It offers traditional dormitory-style living with single or double rooms and shared bathrooms.
