ART INSTITUTE OF COLORADO

Denver, Colorado was home to the Art Institute of Colorado, a private art and culinary school that operated for profit. Before it was shut down in 2018, it had a brief stint of operation as a charitable organisation. The institution was part of the Art Institutes chain, which is a chain of private art schools operating for profit across North America. Education Management Corporation is the parent company of all Art Institutes and runs their operations. EDMC was the college's owner from 1975 until 2017, when, in the face of significant financial problems and declining enrollment, the company sold the Art Institute of Colorado and 30 other Art Institute schools to Dream Center Education, a Pentecostal organisation based in Los Angeles. Dream Center Education now owns all of the Art Institute schools. At the end of 2018, Dream Center made the decision to permanently shut down 18 Art Institute schools, one of which being the Art Institute of Colorado.
