UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA - TULSA

Tulsa, Oklahoma is home to the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine (OUSCM), which is a satellite campus of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. It is the first institution of its sort in the country to be established as a medical school. The mission of the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine is to meet the medical requirements of entire communities, with a particular emphasis on the requirements of vulnerable and underserved groups. The expanding number of people who do not have access to adequate health care, the increasing number of people who are in need of additional physicians who are focused on serving vulnerable populations, and the relatively poor health status of Oklahomans are the driving forces behind OUSCM.
