UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS - FORT SMITH

The University of Arkansas–Fort Smith (UAFS) is a public university in Fort Smith, Arkansas, that offers degrees over the course of four years. UAFS is the sixth-largest university in Arkansas, with an expected enrolment of roughly 6,500 students for the fall semester of 2020. It is a component of the University of Arkansas System. An arboretum that covers 168 acres (0.68 km2) of the university campus is home to 1,182 GPS-invented trees that collectively represent 81 different kinds of trees. It provides 62 different graduate degrees, as well as bachelor's and associate's degrees, 50 different types of technical and competency certificates, and nearly 30 different types of minors. In the latter half of the year 2021, the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith (UAFS) inaugurated its Center for Economic Development (CED) in the Bakery District of downtown Fort Smith. The Center for Economic Development (CED) is comprised of three separate offices, namely the Center for Professional and Business Development, the Family Enterprise Center, and the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center. These offices provide professionals in the business and industry sectors with consulting services as well as training opportunities. UAFS's athletic teams, known as the Lady Lions and the Lions, are members of the Lone Star Conference (LSC) and play in NCAA Division II. There are five women's teams and five men's teams that compete in a total of ten different sports.
