SOUTH EAST TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY

South East Technological University (SETU; Irish: Ollscoil Teicneolaíochta an Oirdheiscirt)[3] is a public technological university located in the South East region of Ireland.[4][5][6][7] It was formed from the amalgamation of two existing institutes of technology in the region - Waterford IT and IT Carlow. Following years of discussions and planning,[8][9][10] its formation was announced in November 2021[11] and was formally established on 1 May 2022.[12] It is the only university in the South East of Ireland.

There is a good supply of high quality student accommodation in Waterford City. This varies from private residential self-catering in houses or apartments to on-campus SETU Waterford student residences. Accommodation providers may take bookings from January for the college year starting in September. As a result accommodation places can fill up very quickly. Therefore, we advise that you reserve your accommodation as early as possible before your arrival in September to ensure that you secure a place.
