RIGA TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

It is based in Riga, Latvia, and was formerly known as the Riga Polytechnicum and Riga Polytechnical Institute. It offered degrees in German in the fields of agriculture, chemistry, engineering, mechanics, trade, and architecture. In 1958, the State University of Latvia's engineering departments were separated to form the new Riga Polytechnical Institute. It changed its name to Riga Technical University in 1990. RTU declared in March 2017 that the international U-Multirank evaluation had given it the top spot among Latvian universities. The top rating for employment goes to RTU grads.
