Manhattan College is a private Roman Catholic liberal arts college in New York City's Bronx. Manhattan College was officially organised as an institution of higher education under a charter issued by the New York State Board of Regents in 1853, after being founded as an academy for day students by the Brothers of the Christian Schools (De La Salle Christian Brothers). It relocated from Manhattan to the Riverdale district of the Bronx in 1922, some 6.4 miles (10.3 kilometres) north of its original home on 131st Street in Manhattanville. Undergraduate programmes in the arts, engineering, business, health, education, and science are available at Manhattan College. Graduate programmes in education, business, science, and engineering are available.
