L'École de design Nantes Atlantique is a private institution for technical education that is solely devoted to the subject of design education and instruction. It was established in 1988, and since 1991, the Nantes-Saint Nazaire Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been in charge of its management. This is one of only two institutions in its discipline that can grant a design degree that is recognised by the French Ministry of Higher Education, and the school has received official recognition from the state. This degree is also listed as a Master's degree at Level I in the Registre National des Certifications Professionnelles (the French directory for vocational credentials), where it has been given official recognition.
