BELLARMINE UNIVERSITY

In Louisville, Kentucky, there is a private Catholic university called Bellarmine University. It was founded by Archbishop John A. Floersh of the Archdiocese of Louisville and given the name Bellarmine College on October 3, 1950. The Board of Trustees decided to rename the institution Bellarmine University in 2000. The institution, which awards bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in more than 50 academic fields through its seven colleges and schools, is categorized as a "D/PU: Doctoral/Professional University.
