WARSAW UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

One of Poland's top technical universities and one of the biggest in Central Europe is the Warsaw University of Technology. 2,453 teaching staff members, including 357 professors, work there (including 145 titular professors). In 2011, there were 36,156 students enrolled, the majority of them full-time. Nearly all areas of science and technology are represented by the 19 faculties (divisions). Except for one, they are all in Warsaw. Each year, the Warsaw University of Technology graduates roughly 5,000 students. According to a 2008 survey by the newspaper Rzeczpospolita, engineers run Polish businesses. Polish managers and executives are most often Warsaw Tech graduates. The president of one of Poland's top 500 companies is a Warsaw University of Technology alumnus every ninth time. The rector, Professor Kurnik, noted that by giving its students an education at the highest level and a preparation with the tools and information, including knowledge of foreign languages, the school provides a solid foundation for the performance of managers.
