Rochester, New York is home to the private research institution known as the University of Rochester (often abbreviated as U of R, UR, or U of Rochester). The institution confers degrees at all levels, from undergraduate to graduate and professional, as well as doctoral and other advanced degrees. There are roughly 6,800 students enrolled in the undergraduate programme and 5,000 in the graduate programme at the University of Rochester.
