The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is a private research institution that is located in the community of Henrietta within the Rochester metropolitan area in the state of New York. The institution confers degrees at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as doctorates, professional degrees, and master's degrees that can be completed online. The institution of higher learning was established in 1829 and currently ranks as the tenth most populous full-time student body of any private university in the United States.
