PATTEN UNIVERSITY

Patten University was a college that could be attended online and was located in Oakland, California. Bebe Patten established it in 1944 as a college for the study of the bible. Throughout its long and eventful history, it has been known by a variety of names, including Oakland Bible Institute, Patten Bible Institute, Patten College, and ultimately Patten University. It was affiliated with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges for a very long time; in 1973, they were granted candidacy for regional accreditation, and between 1978 and 1980, they were granted full accreditation. Patten University made the decision to voluntarily withdraw from accreditation with WASC on February 28, 2020. It is not operational at this time.
