Private Oglethorpe University is in Brookhaven, Georgia. It was established in 1835 and given the honorary name of General James Edward Oglethorpe, who founded the Georgia Colony. Oglethorpe University promotes international education and travel as essential to academic education. Oglethorpe University Students Abroad sponsors trips for credit, short-term partnerships, and agreements. Oglethorpe University offers opportunities in four divisions: International Exchange Partnerships, Independent Study Abroad-Non Partnerships, Short Term Trips, and Associate Student Programs for Special Study Abroad. Nearly 1,500 students got enrolled from more than 30 states and 30 countries.
