Private research university Lehigh University (LU) is located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in the Lehigh Valley area of the state. Businessman Asa Packer founded it in 1865, and it was first connected to the Episcopal Church. Since the academic year 1971–1972, undergraduate programmes at Lehigh University have been coeducational. The university had 1,802 graduate students and 5,047 undergraduate students as of 2019. P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education, and College of Health are the five colleges that make up Lehigh.
