JACKSONVILLE UNIVERSITY

In Jacksonville, Florida, there is a private university called Jacksonville University (JU). The school, which was established in 1934 as a two-year college and was known as Jacksonville Junior College until September 5, 1956, changed its focus to creating four-year university degree programmes, graduating its first students for those programmes as Jacksonville University in June 1959. The school is situated in the city's Arlington district. It belongs to the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida and has earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) (AACSB). Currently, the student body at JU comes from more than 40 different U.S. states and over 45 other nations. It fields 18 varsity athletic teams, known as the JU Dolphins, as well as intramural sports and clubs as a Division I college.
