GRADUATE THEOLOGICAL UNION

Eight private, autonomous American theological schools, eleven centres, and affiliations make up the Graduate Theological Union (GTU). Berkeley, California, is home to seven theological colleges. Students of the 1962-founded GTU can enrol in classes at the University of California, Berkeley. Furthermore, a number of the GTU consortium institutions are affiliated with other Californian universities, including Santa Clara University (Jesuit School of Theology) and California Lutheran University (Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary). The majority of the GTU consortial schools are situated in the Berkeley region, mostly to the north of the university in a district called "Holy Hill" because of the concentration of GTU seminaries and centres there.
