The California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo is a public university that is located in San Luis Obispo, California. It is also known as the California Polytechnic State University, Cal Poly, or simply Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. The California State University system includes three polytechnic schools, and this one is the oldest of the three. Six colleges comprise the academic structure of the university, which confers a total of 65 bachelor's degrees and 39 master's degrees. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo places a primary emphasis on the education of undergraduate students; as of the fall semester of 2020, the university enrolled 21,447 undergraduates and 840 graduate students. The academic emphasis is placed on integrating courses in the arts and humanities with professional and technical training programmes. The Big West Conference is the primary home for the majority of the university's athletic programmes. It is possible for Cal Poly to receive the designation of Asian American Native American Pacific Islander serving institution (AANAPISI).
