AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY

A private Roman Catholic institution of higher education, Ave Maria University (AMU) can be found in Ave Maria, Florida. Its history is intertwined with that of the former Ave Maria College in Ypsilanti, Michigan, which was established in 1998 but relocated to its current location in 2007. Tom Monaghan, a successful businessman and philanthropist, is responsible for the establishment of both of these educational institutions. In 2016, there were 1,100 students enrolled, and approximately 80 percent of them were Catholic.
