VANCOUVER ISLAND UNIVERSITY

Vancouver Island Institution, also known as Malaspina University-College and before that as Malaspina College, is a public university in Canada that serves Vancouver Island and coastal British Columbia. It is abbreviated as VIU and was once known as Malaspina University-College. It first opened its doors in 1969 as Malaspina College, but it has since developed into a university that plays a significant part in the intellectual, cultural, and economic life of the surrounding area. The primary campus can be found in Nanaimo, and there are also campuses in Duncan and Powell River, in addition to a centre that can be found in Parksville.
