THOMPSON RIVERS UNIVERSITY

As a public research university, Thompson Rivers University (TRU) was founded in 1970. Prime Minister Paul Martin paid the university his first ever official visit. The undergraduate, graduate, and vocational training programmes at TRU have produced more than 33,000 Canadian alumni and 15,000 alumni from other countries. They work with a lot of foreign partners through TRU World. The institution offers 60 open learning programmes and 140 on-campus programmes to its 26,000 students who are enrolled in on-campus, online, and distance learning courses. It employs more than 2000 people, including academic staff, administrative personnel, and faculty.

On-campus housing

TRU offers three on-campus residence halls:

North Tower: This residence hall is located on the north side of campus and is home to approximately 570 students.

McGill Residence: This residence hall is located on the south side of campus and is home to approximately 470 students.

East Village: This residence hall is located on the east side of campus and is home to approximately 270 students.

On-campus housing options include:

Single rooms: Single rooms are available in all three residence halls.

Double rooms: Double rooms are available in all three residence halls.

Suites: Suites are available in North Tower and McGill Residence. Suites typically have two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room.
