OKANAGAN COLLEGE

Okanagan College is a public institution of higher education that offers over 120 different certificates, diplomas, degrees, and programmes, some of which are apprenticeships or pre-apprenticeships in various trades. Kelowna, which is located in British Columbia, is the location of the school's principal campus. Okanagan College was established in 1963, and since then, it has expanded to become the largest college in British Columbia outside of the Lower Mainland and Victoria. Currently, Okanagan College has over 8,500 full-time students enrolled across its four regional campuses, making it the second-largest trade school in the province. There are over one thousand international students attending Okanagan College right now, and they come from over forty different countries. The College also has one of the fastest growing populations of Aboriginal students of any college in the province; during the academic year 2015–16, Okanagan College provided educational programming to a total of 1680 Aboriginal students. Okanagan College has one of the fastest growing populations of Aboriginal students of any college in the province (more than three times the number that attended in 2005-06).
